The nesosilicates are characterized by isolated silicate tetrahedra that are bound to each other only by positively charged elements.

Kyanite. Associated with metamorphic rocks and is used in the manufacture of spark plugs.

Garnet. Associated with metamorphic rocks. The largest crystal came from Norway. It weighed 37,500 kg.
