An Evening Reception at the Smithsonian

From 7 to 10 pm on Thursday, June 20, 2019, attendees of the MSA Centennial Symposium and their registered guests are invited to a reception at the National Museum of Natural History, Smithsonian Institution.

Hope Diamond

The Janet Annenberg Hooker Hall of Geology, Gems, & Minerals will be open for our private viewing, so this is an opportunity to see the Hope Diamond and touch a Martian meteorite in the refined company of mineralogists. You will be free to walk through the exhibits with drinks and heavy hors d'oeuvres, and of course we will toast MSA's centennial with champagne and a birthday cake!

This evening reception was made possible by a generous grant from the Gemological Institute of America (GIA).

Entrance to the reception will be at Constitution Avenue and 10th Street NW. This can be reached from either the Federal Triangle or the Archives-Navy Memorial-Penn Quarter Metro Stations. map

This event is not a stand alone event. It is included in the Symposium Registration (online) (pdf)
